Top 8 Dating Advice for Women (What You Need To Know)

Top 8 Dating Advice for Women (What You Need To Know)

Finding the right dating advice for women can be really difficult. There is so much garbage out there.Worse yet there are countless slimeballs pedaling some ‘5 step system to seduce any man’.

Let me be real for a minute.

There is not one perfect piece of dating advice for women to fix your love life and find the man of your dreams.

Luckily there are some really great things you can start doing now to increase you success with men and give you the best possible chance of finding the man of your dreams.

Not just advice for attracting men, but getting into great, long- lasting relationships with guys too.

At the end of this page there are loads more great articles with dating advice, but for now there is some core information that you always need to keep in mind when either flirting and chatting with guys or when you are in a relationship with them.

Get a life

What do I mean exactly? Make sure you take care of your life and your needs first.

Make sure that your health, job/school and other relationships are in order.

Guys may be attracted to you because of your looks, which can be great, but if the rest of your life is a train wreck then any potential relationship will not last.

On top of this, you will have other things going on in your life, which leads me to…

Do not drop anything for a guy

So you met the guy of your dreams last weekend.

Now he wants to hang out on Wednesday evening.

But you already organized to go for drinks with the girls on Wednesday evening.

You may want to ditch the girls and go on a date with this guy.

But and there is a big but….

Dropping everything for a guy is not attractive.

Guys may appreciate it for a date or two.

But they will quickly grow bored of you because you just become like every other girl to him.

This is why having an active social life is so important.

This is a really conuter-intuitive bit of dating advice for women, but trust me it works!

Remember how you really wanted that one guy because you could never get his full attention?

He was a challenge….

Be a challenge

Guys like girls that they have to chase after.

They value girls they have to catch more than pushovers.

Imagine the Super Bowl (strange analogy, but bear with me).

It’s the ultimate prize for a football player.

They spend all of high school and college just to have the chance to make a team that might never even make it to the Super Bowl.

It’s incredibly tough and 99.99% of football players never make it.

But for the ones that do, it’s the ultimate prize.

They value it because it’s a challenge.

They don’t value football socks as much because you can get them in a shop or borrow them.

You need to be the Super Bowl, not just another pair of stinky football socks, lol!

So in the dating world, that means you have to make men work hard to win you over.

You need to be a challenge and we all know that men love challenges

Have standards

Being a challenge is one thing, but having standards is another.

Just because a guy is cute, rich, captain of his high school football team or has a great job does not mean you should start dating him.

Yes you may be attracted to him and enjoy flirting with him, but if you know he is a player, then my advice is to stay away unless you are happy to be tossed aside for the next girl he wants.

There are two things you need to do.

First does he respect you?

Is he the kind of guy that will treat you properly or will he just tell his friends about every detail?

Then you will probably be wondering is he attracted to me.

Do not treat him as your emotional sponge*

Maybe you had a bad day at work or had a fight with your family.

The most unattractive thing you can do is to pour out all your feelings thinking it will get the guy you want.

Sure guys are logical and want to fix things.

But at the start of a relationship, unloading all your problems onto a guy is not smart.

It smells of ‘help fix my problems, I can’t do it myself’.

This is probably the harshest bit of dating advice I’ll give you, but sometimes you really have to work hard to make a relationship work.

(*This is super important at the start of any relationship but less so as it becomes more serious)

Do not reward bad behavior

If a guy cancels a date with you without a decent reason or teases you too much in front of his/your friends, the worst thing you can do is smile and laugh.

He needs to know when he has stepped over the line.

There is no need to throw your drink at him.

But ignore him for a little bit.

If it happens again, you need to tell him straight up when you are alone that you are walking if he ever tries it again.

It might sound harsh or mean.

Well that’s because it is.

But relationships aren’t always a breeze.

The good ones take work.

Let him open up when he wants to

Ever wonder what he’s thinking about.

“How come he never tells me how he feels?”

Here’s the thing.

If a guy is truly mad about you, then he will open up when he is ready.

Prodding and pleading with him to open up about his feelings will get him doing the exact opposite (the scientific term is cognitive dissonance folks).

If he does open up it’s only because he felt forced to and will resent you for it.

Be real

Everybody has an ideal version of themselves that they would like other people to see.

They hope that the guy they are trying to attract sees them this way too.

Perfect beauty, perfect life.

You’re not the only one.

Guys do this too.

They act macho and like to pretend that every girl wants them.

It’s okay to present yourself as perfect for the first few dates but if you feel like you have to always be ‘on’ then you will put unneeded stress on yourself.

This is probably the most important of all the dating advice that you can use if you want your relationships to last in the long term.

Added to this, the guy you are with will start to notice cracks and slowly start questioning whether or not you are who you say you are.

So you need to be real when flirting, chatting and dating guys.

If they don’t like you for who you are then don’t bother with them.

Does this mean I should tell them about my problems straight away.

HELL NO!

Just don’t desperately try to hide every single little and imperfection and blemish.

UNGRATEFUL?? See Top Five Artistes That Should Send Money To Davido But Refused (No 5 Is No More A 30BG)

Yesterday, the 17th of November was a day Davido will never forget in his career

The Nigerian international artiste, Davido jokingly made more than 170m Naira without selling tickets, albums or digital platforms monetization.

Isn’t that impressive?? It’s damn fantabulous as various friends and lovers shower him with millions as he anticipates his forthcoming birthday.

Naijaloaded has gathered some colleagues who have refused and ignored to send him money.

The singer, Davido called out his friends and colleagues to send him 1m Naira each as they claim to be 30BG gang in his Instagram Story. “If you can’t send me money, you are not a 30BG”, he added.

Let’s go with the list of those that ignored him.

#1 Lil Frosh

So because Davido terminated Lil Frosh contract during the domestic violence issue, does that mean he should be ungrateful?

I can still recount how Davido treated Lil Frosh when he was still in their circle. The luxurious lifestyle, shopping for him, giving him unexpected exposure.

Despite all these, Lil Frosh can’t send him money to appreciate him. Even if you don’t have up to a million, Davido will definitely accept the little you have and tag you.

#2 Humblesmith

Sometimes, I understand that not everyone you help will know it for you.

If those that gave him money was like Humblesmith, Davido wouldn’t have received that mouthwatering money.

Do you guys still remember his hit song “Osinachi

“? Davido put a lot of energy into that song and as well as the video.

It was later revealed that the promising artiste paid nothing to Baba Imade for his service. Which artiste in Nigeria will give a fvck about your career as Davido did?

Nothing you can tell me, Humblesmith is ungrateful to sly Davido. Humblesmith of all people.

#03 Dremo

Wait, how did Dremo put himself on this list??? For Davido to purposely tag you on his story, he knows your worth. Nothing you fit tell me.

Aside from attaining fame while with Davido, there are also some benefits, free shopping Dremo has enjoyed.

Mayorkun and Peruzzi who were also tagged alongside have sent 1m naira each with an epistle of appreciation, thanking Davido for all he has done for them.

Should we say Davido has done nothing for Dremo? YouTube monetization privilege out of many visible graces is enough to commend the DMW Boss.

If somebody like MC Galaxy can send 3m to Davido nothing Dremo can tell us to prove himself from this stinginess and ungrateful manner.

#4 Aloma DMW

Nothing Aloma will tell me to prove me wrong that he’s not fit for this list.

Davido has given you so many opportunities to be a greater person under him. Creating a record label under your boss label is enough to say, Davido is too kind and generous. Like who does that??

Aloma was able to sign good artistes to his label which we can obviously say they joined with the influence of Davido.

Even a random Nigerian guy who he met in Dubai mall gave him money. So Aloma DMW just ghosts him, nawa ooo.

#5 Lyta

Regardless of anything, Lyta should be the first artiste to credit Davido. Or is he expecting Davido to mention him before doing that?

Davido has rescued Lyta when he was having a label issue under his former boss, Olamide in YBNL. Recall that Davido out of pity called Lyta for featuring on his Monalisa

song and even sort the bill for his music video.

Aside from the free featuring and the financial burden given to Lyta, the collaboration also helped Lyta to get over being depressed and discouraged.

Despite Davido emphasizing that “if you know say I don help you or give you hit song, send me money”. Lyta still ostracises or does he feel like the statement is not for him?

The End!

Who Among These List Is Most Ungrateful?

Drop your comment we want to hear from you.

Nigerian Army Is Not Our Rival – Police

The commissioner said this after Chief of Defence Staff, Lucky Irabor, took a swipe at the police saying Nigerian soldiers are disciplined, unlike the police officers that carry out extrajudicial killings.

Lagos state commissioner of police, Hakeem Odumosu has stated that there is no rivalry between the Nigerian Police, the Nigerian Army and other security forces in the country.

Mr Odumosu further said that there was no rivalry among the country’s security agencies.

This week, the Chief of Defence Staff, Lucky Irabor, took a swipe at the police saying Nigerian soldiers are disciplined, unlike the police officers that carry out extrajudicial killings.

According to the police commissioner in a statement, the police and the military are members of the same big family pursuing the same goal in the nation’s interest.

Mr Odumosu stated this during the study tour of delegates of the Senior Course 44 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, to the Lagos police command on November 16.

The statement indicated that the police chief also presented a paper titled ‘Contribution of the Nigeria Police to the Enhancement of National Security in Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole’.

“The commissioner of police said that the visit will afford the course participants to get a thorough knowledge of the strategies being adopted by the police to secure the citizens, business entities, private and government facilities and other critical infrastructures of national interest in the state,” the statement explained.

“The strategies, the CP emphasised, include but not limited to proactive and intelligence-driven security strategies to tackle the menace (of crimes and criminality) head-on and ensure a secured environment.”

Speaking on the recently released #EndSARS report detailing soldiers and police’s atrocities, Mr Irabor said, “In the meantime, until I see the full extent of the report, I may not be able to…but I can assure you that the Armed Forces of Nigeria are disciplined, well-disciplined and will not engage in any ignoble act.”

He added, “If Nigerians don’t trust us, then we will not be doing what we’re doing. In any case, it’s the Armed Forces of Nigeria. Remember, we are not dealing… We are not talking about the police but the Armed Forces with emphasis, the Armed Forces of Nigeria.”

20 common weeds and their scientific names (pictures)

Top 20 most common weeds with their scientific names

Here is a list of weeds that you are likely to find in your garden or yard and their scientific names. We have included pictures too so that you can identify them easily.

1. African Feather Grass – Cenchrus macrourus

African Feather Grass (Cenchrus macrourus)

The African Feather Grass, also known as bedding grass, is a perennial, clump-forming grass that can reach a height of about two meters. It has deep fibrous roots and rhizomes that form new plants. Its leaves are harsh, strongly ribbed, and tough.

The plant is dark-green underneath and light-green on top. Its stems are round, purplish-white, and have fine hairs that break when touched, causing skin irritations. As one of the many grass weeds, you can control it by slashing or burning it before its seeds set it. You can also apply glyphosate or flupropanate during periods of growth to eliminate it.

2. African Lily – Agapanthus praecox

African Lily - Agapanthus praecox

The African lily, also known as the blue lily, is a well-known garden weed throughout the world. It is a perennial plant with open-faced flowers. Its flowers are white, blue, or purple, and bloom in the summer. When you open its capsules, you will find fine black seeds.

As a homeowner, you should try and control this plant because it has powerful roots that can penetrate or break concrete. Unlike other weeds, the Agapanthus praecox is challenging to remove. It is resistant to most herbicides. The best way of eliminating it is to dig it out and spray the area evenly using a chemical surfactant.

3. African Lovegrass – Eragrostis curvula

African Lovegrass - Eragrostis curvula

The African Lovegrass or weeping lovegrass is one of the most common garden weeds whose scientific name is Eragrostis curvula. It is a long-lived perennial grass that can also be an annual plant in some regions. When growing, it forms a dense root network with tufts of stems that are about two meters long and a diameter of 8 centimeters. Its leaves are hair-like, narrow, rough, and blue-green to bright green.

The weed is tough to control at home. Its roots can penetrate over four meters deep in the soil and three meters laterally. Its seedlings can send out many small rootlets, thus creating a dense root system. A useful way of eliminating it is to till with a deep disc or plow in hot, dry weather.

4. Canada Thistle – Cirsium arvense

Canada Thistle - Cirsium arvense

The Canada thistle is a perennial flowering plant that thrives in areas with moderate temperatures, sunlight, and lots of groundwater. It can grow to a height of 1.5 meters with thickened roots that spread many erect shoots. Its leaves have wavy spiny or toothed margins, are alternate, irregularly shaped, and lance-shaped.

The stems of the plant are smooth with short hairs. Its flowers are pink and purple. Canada thistle is adaptive and a worst invasive weed. Controlling it is through snipping off the base of the plant. Avoid pulling it out because it can split its roots and cause two more of the weed to grow back.

5. Common Chicory – Cichorium intybus

Common Chicory - Cichorium intybus

The Common Chicory is a woody, perennial herbaceous plant with bright blue flowers that can sometimes be pink or white. It grows in the wild, especially on roadsides, and has a robust, grooved, and hairy stem. Its leaves are light purple or lavender, and it has broad flower heads.

As a weed, chicory adapts to well-drained soils in full sun. If it grows in your small garden, removing it by hand is the most practical method of controlling it. But you must ensure you get rid of all its roots.

6. Common Self-heal – Prunella vulgaris

Common Self-heal - Prunella vulgaris

The Common Self-heal is a perennial herbaceous plant that grows to a height of 30 centimeters. Its stem is reddish, hard, and self-rooting. Its leaves are lance-shaped, reddish at the axis, and serrated.

People who identify weeds by photos will notice that the common self-heal mostly grows on waste places, gardens, and roadsides. If the plant is sprouting in lawns, control it by spraying a 2,4-D-based herbicide. Apply the treatment during chilly, moist, and calm climatic conditions.

7. Couch Grass – Elymus repens

Couch Grass - Elymus repens

The Couch Grass is a perennial weed characterized by creeping rhizomes that enable it to grow faster across grassland. Its leaves are linear, flat, and hairy, with upright flower spikes. You can also identify it by the stems, which grow to a length of up to 1.5 meters.

Couch grass is one of the many naturalized weeds in the world categorized as invasive. It can be challenging to remove it from the garden since the thin rhizomes can become twisted among shrubs. Therefore, you can eliminate it by pulling it out during the spring. You can also dig deep in the ground to remove the entire grass.

8. Crabgrass – Digitaria sanguinalis

Crabgrass - Digitaria sanguinalis

When you want to identify common weeds in the Digitaria sanguinalis class of species, you will come up with many names, including crabgrass, large crabgrass, purple crabgrass, and more. It is a weed used as animal fodder with edible seeds. The crabgrass is an annual plant that has long, thin, radiating branches.

The crabgrass can be weedy or invasive. A practical way of killing it is to remove its visible clumps by pulling them out, including the roots. Also, a simple solution of regular household vinegar and dish detergent can help to get rid of Digitaria sanguinalis.

If you want to prevent this grass from growing on your lawn, you should use a crabgrass preventer.

9. Dandelion – Taraxacum officinale

Dandelion - Taraxacum officinale

The Dandelion is a flowering herbaceous perennial plant. It is one of the many types of weeds that grow in temperate regions. You will find them in lawns, on banks, roadsides, waterways, and moist soils.

Its stems are upright, tinted purplish, and produce narrowly winged or unwinged leaves with yellow flower heads. As a perennial plant, the best way of eliminating it from your lawn is to spray it with broadleaf herbicides. Herbicides will kill the entire plant, including the leaves and roots.

10. Duckweed – Portulaca oleracea

Duckweed - Portulaca oleracea

The duckweed, also known as common purslane, is an annual succulent characterized by smooth, reddish, prostrate stems. It can grow to a height of 40 centimeters with yellow flowers. Its flowers can appear at any time of the year, especially when there is enough rainfall.

The duckweed has a taproot system with fibrous secondary roots. It can withstand poorly compacted soils and even grow in drought regions. You can eliminate it by using 2,4-D-based herbicide or uprooting it using gardening tools.

11. English Plantain – Plantago lanceolata

English Plantain - Plantago lanceolata

The English plantain is a common rosette-forming perennial weed on cultivated land. It has a flower stalk that can produce up to two hundred seeds. Plantago lanceolata can live in rain forest areas and dry meadows.

Although the plant has a taproot system, its ability to produce many seeds from one leaf makes it challenging to control. To eliminate it, start by pulling out the entire plant and root. A rule of thumb is to pick off any flower stalks immediately they begin to sprout to prevent them from spreading the seeds.

12. Groundsel – Senecio vulgaris

Groundsel - Senecio vulgaris

The Groundsel is an annual flowering plant that can grow to a height of 45 centimeters. It has sessile leaves that lack a stem and alternate in the direction along the length of the plant. Its root system has a shallow taproot. Because of this trait, the weed can only spread by reseeding itself.

It is easy to control the groundsel because of its taproot system. You can remove it by hand-pulling or cutting it off through hoeing. Ensure to eliminate the plant before it flowers and sets seed.

13. Ground Ivy – Glechoma hederacea

Ground Ivy - Glechoma hederacea

The Ground Ivy is a perennial plant considered an aggressive invasive weed. You will find it on most lawns because of its extensive root system. It is easy to identify it because its leaves are kidney-like or fan-shaped. The plant can spread by either its seed or stolon.

The Ground Ivy is a challenging plant to eradicate because of its root system and how it spreads. It is the primary reason why the weed has many other names, including creeping charlie, run-away-robin, and catsfoot. You cannot eliminate it by hand-pulling. A practical way is to use a broadleaf herbicide that contains dicamba.

14. Knotgrass – Polygonum aviculare

Knotgrass - Polygonum aviculare

The common Knotgrass, also known as prostrate knotweed, is an annual plant found in wastelands, arable land, and fields, and grows mostly in temperate regions. It has white flowers, semi-erect stem, and hairless, short-stalked leaves. Its seeds need ample light to germinate and heavy rains of spring, hence the reason you will find it in disturbed soils.

It also has a long taproot that helps it to survive in hot climates. The best way of eradicating the weed is to use glyphosate-based herbicides. Spray its leaves in the late summer or early autumn.

15. Orchardgrass – Dactylis glomerata

Orchardgrass - Dactylis glomerata

The Orchardgrass is a weed characterized by a dense network of non-rhizomatous roots. It is a perennial plant that can grow to a height of 120 centimeters. Its leaves are v-shaped near the base and have a closed sheath.

Since its roots are dense, the plant tends to grow fast. Its rooting depths can reach up to two feet. To control it, start by pulling it out and spray the area using glyphosate herbicide.

16. Red dead-nettle – Lamium purpureum

Red dead-nettle - Lamium purpureum

The Red dead-nettle, also known as purple dead-nettle is an annual herbaceous flowering plant characterized by a square stem that grows to a height of 20 centimeters. Its leaves have fine hairs and are green in color at the bottom and purplish at the top. It has a taproot system that forms dense colonies by reseeding itself.

You can use glyphosate to control the weed while it is actively growing in spring or fall and cold climates. If you are a gardener, spread some mulch on the area you cleared to control the seeds.

17. Spotted Spurge – Euphorbia maculata

Spotted Spurge - Euphorbia maculata

The Spotted Spurge is a fast-growing annual plant common in gardens and lawns. It is a weed that sprouts in sunny locations and different soils. Its leaves are oval, flowers are small with white petals, and its stem has a length of about 45 centimeters.

When you look at pictures of common weeds, you will notice that the Spotted Spurge is a small plant that you can remove by pulling. But you should do it before it flowers and produces seeds. You can also kill it by using a weed killer or a non-selective herbicide containing 25% glyphosate.

18. Wild Madder – Rubia peregrine

Wild Madder - Rubia peregrine

The Wild Madder is a perennial herbaceous weed that grows in bushes, thickets, stony grounds, hedges, and along paths and roads. It has a woody stem, which is also climbing, square and hairless, and can reach a length of up to 2.5 meters. Its leaves are evergreen, sessile, leathery, and glossy.

As one of the common weeds and their botanical names on this list, Rubia peregrine refers to a plant that is resistant to stress. You can eliminate it by using herbicides, burning, or uprooting it.

19. Yellow Foxtail – Setaria pumila

Yellow Foxtail - Setaria pumila

The Yellow Foxtail is an invasive annual weed that grows in lawns, roadsides, sidewalks, and other areas. It can grow to a height of 20 centimeters and has a hairless stem whose color can range from purple-tinged to green. When growing, it tends to spread aggressively, making it difficult to control it.

If the weed has invaded your garden or sidewalk, eliminate it by pulling off its seed heads to prevent it from repopulating the same area. You can also dig deep into the soil to remove its roots. Alternatively, use pre-emergence herbicides to kill it permanently.

20. Yellow Woodsorrel – Oxalis stricta

Yellow Woodsorrel - Oxalis stricta

The Yellow Woodsorrel is a herbaceous plant that grows in the woodlands, disturbed areas, and meadows. It is both an annual and perennial weed that has clover-like leaves. When you look at pictures of weeds, it is easy to spot the plant because it is common in most gardens and people have used it in salads. However, it also has poisonous parts.

When it blooms, it produces yellow flowers and grows to a maximum height of one foot. It can also spread quickly because the plant grows in all types of soils. You can eliminate it by hand or dig it up using a hoe. Another option is to use a non-selective herbicide.

In conclusion

The 20 most common weeds and their scientific names are those that grow in backyards, lawns, small gardens, and walkways. Some of them are perennial, and others are annual. Depending on the characteristics of the plants, you can eliminate them by hand-pulling, digging out, or using a non-selective herbicide.
