Mr. Ibu, a comic actor, has denied the viral news that he was on set during the week.
Recall that the actor was hospitalized after allegedly being poisoned at an event in Abuja.
The comic actor cleared air in an interview with Sunday Scoop.
He said:
“It is false news that I have left the hospital and was at a movie shoot. Although the doctor has discharged me (on Saturday), I am just getting prepared to leave the hospital latest by tomorrow (Sunday). I am feeling very good now but I am not ready to go back to shooting movies so soon. I still need some time to rest. I appreciate everyone who has been praying for me and wishing me a quick recovery. I pray that God would replenish everyone according to their deeds.”
Chioma Okafor, the actor’s daughter and manager, told Sunday Scoop that she was restless about the false reports that her father was back on location.
She said:
“We are worried about the false news making the rounds about my dad. He did not go to any movie location. He has just been discharged and would be leaving the hospital soon. He needs time to recover well before going back to shooting movies. To avert the issue of fraud, we have taken down his former Instagram handle, @RealMrIbu, which was hacked and used by fraudsters to solicit monetary support in his name without his knowledge. His new Instagram handle is @RealMrIbu1. I am managing the account and other things relating to him for now as his official secretary.”

According to officials aware with the situation, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested Nigerian socialite Cubana Chief Priest on charges of money laundering and tax fraud.
His real name is Pascal Okechukwu, and he was detained at the Lagos airport on Thursday, but anti-graft officials kept quiet about it due to pressure from his acquaintances and family, who warned the incident could complicate conditions for others suspected of being involved in the alleged racket.
According to Peoples Gazette, Mr Okechukwu’s detention has made it impossible for him to respond to birthday congratulations from his over four million Instagram followers, as only his wife is allowed to see him in custody.
As of Saturday night, it was unclear when he would be allowed bail or how much information officials had been able to extract from him.
“The matter is still under investigation,” an anonymous source claimed.
As an advocate for numerous national businesses, including Bullet, Cubana Chief Priest has garnered national acclaim.
His arrest came just weeks after the anti-narcotics agency NDLEA nabbed another socialite, Obi Cubana.
The EFCC has been approached for comment by the Gazette.

Muslims believe that Ramadan teaches them to practice self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and empathy for those who are less fortunate, thus encouraging actions of generosity and compulsory charity (zakat). Muslims also believe fasting helps instill compassion for the food-insecure poor.
